Householder Planning Appeal in Hooe, East Sussex
Springfield House, Hooe
Householder planning permission secured on appeal for the erection of a privacy screen in a rear garden to serve a detached property within a designated National Landscape.
Members of Wealden District Council’s Planning Committee rejected their officers’ initial recommendation to approve the application. Instead, committee members refused permission on the grounds that the privacy screen would cause unacceptable adverse impacts on the High Weald National Landscape, as well as the outlook and light levels of the neighbouring property.
At appeal, we successfully demonstrated to the Planning Inspector that the proposed screen would cause no such harm. The Inspector allowed the appeal, enabling the homeowners to reinstate the essential privacy they had enjoyed prior to the removal of dense boundary vegetation by their neighbours.
