Eagle House, St John’s Wood

Full planning permission secured on appeal for the erection of an extension to an existing roof level tank room for use as a self-contained studio flat in the high value area of St John’s Wood.

Westminster City Council initially argued that by virtue of its bulk, location and detailed design the proposed roof extension would harm the appearance of this building and fail to maintain or improve (preserve or enhance) the character and appearance of the St. John's Wood Conservation Area.

At appeal, however, we convinced the Planning Inspectorate that the proposed development would successfully avoid having such an impact – concluding that the proposed works would meet the requirements of the conservation and design aims of all relevant City Plan Polices.
