Manor Close, Ingleton

Planning permission was successfully secured on appeal for the erection of a two-storey, split-level 3-bedroom house on a previously undeveloped, unallocated parcel of land located on the edge of Ingleton – a rural village which lies at the foot of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

In spite of securing support for the proposal from Craven District Council ‘s Officers, their Planning Committee ultimately refused to grant planning permission for the erection of the house - arguing that it would have an unacceptable, negative impact on the street scene.

The appointed Inspector however, agreed with our contrasting assessment – concluding that by virtue of its design, massing and position, the proposed house could be successfully integrated into the street without unduly harming either the character or appearance of the locality.
