Royal Crescent, Brighton
Listed building consent has been secured for an extensive scheme of internal alterations at first, second and third floor levels throughout this Grade II* listed terraced house on Brighton’s seafront.
The proposals sought to reverse a high number of alterations that had been unlawfully undertaken by previous occupiers of the property. The new owners’ intention was to re-instate as many of the property’s original features as possible and celebrate its historical and architectural qualities.
Key to the success of this scheme was to satisfy the Local Planning Authority’s Historic Buildings Advisors. This was largely achieved through the provision of a suite of information that provided details of how damaging previous alterations had been and how authentic the proposed would be.
